On Saturday May 19th Eric Gonzalez and Chuey Quintanar were tattooing live at Atomic Dogg Magazine’s “Super Bully Show” held at the Orange County Fair grounds. We’d like to thank Big L, Cruz, Herb, Dave Wilson, and everyone at Atomic Dogg Magazine for hosting the event and having us. Jeffrey Figueroa: Featured in “Bound by Ink” Magazine

Nspired1 resident artist Jeffrey “The Catalyst Butcher” Figueroa was featured in issue 9 of “Bound by Ink” Magazine. The 10 page article showcases some of Jeffrey’s work but more importantly, gives insight on the depth, meaning and inspiration behind his artistic style.

Here is an excerpt from the article:

“Sometimes grotesque and sometimes beautiful, Jeffrey, The Butcher’s art is at all times polarizing and reactionary. Known for his often controversial mixed-media sculptures that ride the line of divinity and secular morbidity, Jeffrey will get a reaction for his art. It’s all part of his motivation for presenting it in the first place, almost putting the viewer within the composition, at least emotionally. ‘I’ll try to make something that you look at in disgust, but you can’t look away. Milan Tattoo Convention Update

So we landed in Milan Thursday evening and it was snowing……. Its really cool but we were just thinking that hopefully it doesn’t affect the attendance at the convention. Later on we met up with some friends and had an amazing Italian meal! Followed by a great time having a few……… A lot of drinks with some of the other artists at the convention hotel bar.
On friday before going to the convention we went into the city and checked out the Duomo…….. WOW! Seeing this place in person just blew my mind. I’ll be posting up detailed pictures later.
The first day of the convention was a success. The attendance was great! The artists working at this event are ridiculously good. I got a chance to tattoo a geisha on a girl named Sara. The drawing was done by her dad who is a tattoo artist out here in Milan. After tattooing the geisha I ended up tattooing a freehand skull on her parents which was split in two so it can be complete when they match up their arms.
Well it’s Saturday now and I’m off to the convention.
